Yes, you may choose to take a short trip out of the country and re-enter. However, this is subject to immigration regulations at the time of your entry.
We recommend checking your options before making travel plans.
The main difference is whether the pass can be extended:
Approval and pass duration are subject to the discretion of the Immigration Department.
No, multiple-entry pass is not applicable for Medical Pass or Special Pass.
Your existing tourist pass may be converted to a Medical Pass or Special Pass, subject to the approval and discretion of the Immigration Officer.
The duration of the extension depends on your treatment plan. However, the final approval is at the discretion of the Immigration Department, and we are unable to appeal or negotiate once a decision has been made.
Revise: Please be informed that two separate fees apply when extending a tourist pass:
Administrative Assistance Fee – Payable to KL Fertility Centre for processing and handling your extension request.
Visa Extension Fee – Payable directly to the Immigration Department, subject to their prevailing regulations.
The application process typically takes 7–14 working days to compile the required documents and obtain the MHTC support letter.
Once all documents are ready, our clinic representative will accompany you to the Immigration Office for submission.
Medical-related visa or pass extensions are only applicable for patients who are actively undergoing treatment and remain under our care, including IVF, IUI treatments, or pregnancy follow-up scans.
After 12 weeks of pregnancy, patients will be referred to another obstetrician for ongoing antenatal care and delivery management.
As such, we would recommend selecting a medical centre affiliated with MHTC for your subsequent care, as they may continue to assist you with future visa or pass extension matters.
